We are situated at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, benefiting from state of the art hospital facilities and beautiful natural surroundings. We see around 20,000 emergency medical admissions each year.

The Acute Medical Unit is a 48 bedded unit that receives patients directly from GP’s and Emergency Department.  We ensure all emergency admission patients receive seamless, high quality care at the point of admission.  The development of Emergency Care at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital has led to the expansion of the current services offered by the Acute Medical Unit.  This includes ambulatory care, acute medical short stay beds, clinical decisions unit and advanced care for critically ill patients.

This role offers an exciting and challenging opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and highly skilled team as we look forward to the future development of the Emergency Care at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.  We are offering you an interesting and varied role where you will be working as part of a friendly team which can provide you with the opportunity to develop your leadership and clinical skills in the field of acute medicine

You will work with all members of the Ward/Department clinical team within the multi-disciplinary framework.  You will maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Ward/Department Sister/Charge Nurse. You will act as a leader in the clinical area, in the absence of a more senior member of staff.  You will also work in accordance with the principles laid down by the Nursing/Midwifery professional bodies and Trust Policies.

We are offering full and part time hours with rotation on to nights and weekends.
