The Associate Medical Director for Research is a key role in the trust supporting, promoting, leading and developing research at NNUH. They will work in close partnership with the Director of Research Operations, who is responsible for central research support services and facilities across the hospital as well as contractual arrangements and regulatory compliance for research.
As an NNUHFT appointment, the post holder will build partnerships and work to facilitate research across the different institutions of the Norwich Research Park, providing clear leadership to remove barriers where they currently exist, promoting NNUH as a good place to do medical research with its partners UEA and QIB. They will actively encourage multi-disciplinary research across professional boundaries within and between the Schools of Medicine and Health Sciences and NNUH. The post-holder will be responsible for improving the profile and status of research at NNUH. They will also work closely with the Director of Research Operations and their teams and with the Divisional and Departmental Research Leads to enhance recruitment into all types of trials and studies.
The post-holder will support the Director of Research Operations, the Deputy Chief Nurse and the central research support teams to ensure that research support services are optimised while ensuring researchers and their teams comply with legal, regulatory and local requirements
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
