This is an exciting opportunity to lead patient centred research within the CRN Eastern team.

As part of a national network of NIHR, individual CRN leaders will drive the clinical research agenda, which is one of national importance and you will work with clinicians and managers to make available clinical trials to all our patient population.

You should be a strategic thinking senior manager, capable of working independently and with a firm understanding of portfolio study delivery. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and managing the resources needed to deliver the local portfolio of studies within the specified specialties. S/he will be responsible for planning the deployment and day to day management of these resources across multiple NHS and other providers, through direct and matrix management.

The post holder will also be responsible for monitoring and active management of performance against national objectives, reporting on this to the NIHR CRN leadership. S/he will have operational responsibility for the assurance and promotion of the Information Governance framework across the CRN, reporting to the COO (SIRO) and the host organisations Information Governance structures where issues arise and provide leadership on the development of the required action plans.

The Research Delivery Manager will work closely with the local Clinical Research Specialty Leads for their portfolio of studies. A detailed understanding is required of the delivery of clinical research appropriate to their specialties, enabling them to plan and review use of resource across many individual units/organisations.

Delivery requirements are regionally based and you should be prepared to work across the CRN Eastern geography.
