We are looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist with experience of working within Paediatric/chronic health Psychology, to join two multi-disciplinary teams covering Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) (18.75 hours/week) and Paediatric Oncology (15 hours/week). The Oncology team already has a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in post but the service is expanding to cover a larger geographical area.
The CF post will involve some travel to satellite clinics across East Anglia, working with patients and their families on psychological issues and impact of CF and Cancer. As well as assessment and therapy for families, the post holder will offer advice consultation and training to the wider team. It is essential that the successful applicant is a strong team player, working well as an integrated part of different multidisciplinary teams, consisting of Consultant Physicians, specialist nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists and social workers. The work will include individual and family appointments, in-patient work, multi-disciplinary liaison, consultation to the wider team, research and service development.
These appointments will reinforce and expand the existing Clinical Psychology service, which comprises of Clinical Psychology input into Adult Pain management, weight management, Cystic Fibrosis and diabetes and Paediatric Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology and Oncology. The post-holder will be a key contributor to establishing the service, with support from the existing Clinical Psychologists. There are strong links with the Doctorate programme at the University of East Anglia.
Hours of work - Full time -37.5 hours per week. A job share for this vacancy will be considered
