The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Cytology department was chosen to be the provider of HPV primary testing for the East of England. This means that we are now testing up to 450,000 cervical screening samples per year for HPV using the high throughput Roche Cobas systems.

The laboratory also currently processes around 4,000 diagnostic cytology samples per year.

It is a very busy department, and is sited in modern, well-equipped accommodation at the Cotman Centre, on Colney Lane.

The post holder will be based in the cytology department at the Cotman Centre.

Examples of duties:

  • To provide IT support for enquiries from the East of England cervical screening service users.
  • To maintain the Cervical Sample Taker Database (CSTD) and deal with user enquires relating to the CSTD and extract reports from the CSTD in line with the needs of the service.

To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.
