The Dermatology unit at the NNUH is a large department comprising of 10 Consultant Dermatologists with a large cohort of specialist nurses who undertake nurse led clinics on a daily basis. We are an innovative department constantly evolving our service to the high demand of our population. The department is within a large teaching hospital with emphasis on research and patient experience. We have close affiliation with our plastics department and run a Mohs service for complex skin cancers. Skin cancer attributes to 50% of our workload; we also run a phototherapy service, biologics, patch testing, pediatrics, adolescents, genetics, a nurse led day treatment, cellulitis and lymphedema service. We also work across sites in the community and at Cromer Hospital.
This post will involve the day to day running of the dermatology department services and line managing over 40 nurses of different bandings and skill mix. You will also be expected to contribute to the clinical activity which will require you to already have extensive dermatology knowledge which is wide ranging. The skill set mix is diverse and requires a good dermatology clinical background to enable you to perform this role to a high standard. Excellent communications skill are essential, you will be involved in strategic service development across the department which will require attendance at various Trust meeting at a senior level. The department is a 7 day a week service and there is scope for possible evening clinics, therefore, flexibility is essential. Please note there is no night duty involved.
