Job overview

Due to a number of internal promotions, we are pleased to offer the ultimate new graduate role.  We are recruiting for a Band 5 Dietitian to work at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This is a permanent full-time post (1.0 WTE). This post is suitable for newly qualified Dietitians or Band 5 Dietitians looking for further experience. We also welcome applications from Dietetic Students in their final degree years.

In this role we aim to give you a solid knowledge base within Dietetics at one of the largest hospitals in the UK to set you on course for a successful career. You will be based within the Adult Acute Team. We see patients from a variety of specialties including gastroenterology and surgical, neurology and stroke, critical care, medicine for the elderly, oncology, renal, eating disorders and many more!

Why don’t you get in touch and talk to us about what we can do for you?

We will develop you into an autonomous practitioner who is empowered to make decisions and take actions using your own initiative.  In the meantime, you will have a dedicated team leader and peer support to enable you to make the most of learning opportunities you will encounter.

Over 2/3 of our current Specialist Dietitians started in our department as Band 5 Dietitians!

Alongside this you will be helped through our general Dietetic and enteral feeding competencies within the first 3 months of practice.  You will also be involved in the day-to-day co-ordination and prioritisation of patient care, learning key skills for your future. Newly qualified Dietitians will also be enrolled on our preceptorship scheme which will further support your development in your first year of Dietetic practice.

On an ongoing basis your responsibilities will include:

  • Day to day patient care
  • Prioritisation and organisation of caseloads
