The role of the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse is a pivotal role providing leadership and support to the nursing team, while ensuring the ward is managed safely and smoothly.
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate outstanding communication skills, first-rate organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently in a fast paced work environment.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working at Band 6 level or above, with an ability to move the ward team forward, positively embracing the challenges to ensure the team can meet the demands of providing quality patient care in a fast paced environment.

As post holder you will :
-lead the ward team providing professional leadership and management within the ward environment.
- be accountable and responsible for the standards of care provided.
- demonstrate specialist knowledge and act as a role model and resource for the nursing/clinical team.
- work in liaison with other Senior Nursing staff and the MDT to implement directorate and Trust service plans
Hours of work : Full time - 37.5 hours per week, to include some weekends, bank holidays and night shifts
