Research Luminal Gastroenterology Consultant Post

This advertisement is for a new post within the department of Gastroenterology at the NNUH which includes the Quadram Institute. We are looking to attract high quality research applicants who wish to establish themselves as an academic luminal Gastroenterologist as a chosen career but need support to either become established or dedicated time to progress further their career. This post includes 50% dedicated research time within the consultant job plan for the first 3 years of this post.

As a large and growing department, we can accommodate a range of sub-specialist Gastroenterology research interests. Furthermore, we can also accommodate candidates who are looking for part time or a post-retirement post.

This post has arisen due to the need for a significant expansion of our academic gastrointestinal staff within the Gastroenterology department and a clear ambition to develop an academic department of gastroenterology within the Norwich Research Park. Successful applicants of this post will have the full support of the university/Quadram Institute and discussions about Post-doctoral support and research cost support will be provided/negotiated following pre interview discussions with potential applicants.

This post has been deliberately left open to allow candidates, following discussion with the department to develop their own subspecialist interests whether that be clinical, endoscopic, nutrition, physiology, research, or some combination of the above.

A candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties of a whole-time post will receive equal consideration. For consultants wishing to move from existing posts we offer flexible working opportunities.

If such a candidate is appointed to this post, the job plan and timetable will be modified as appropriate in consultation with the gastroenterology and GI endoscopic Service Director.

We welcome all applications irrespective of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion. Additionally, people with disabilities will be offered an interview providing they meet the minimum criteria for the post.  The Trust operates job sharing and a flexible working programme.
