**14 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship **

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS.  You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 qualification within the duration of the placement.

The Head & Neck admin department is based within the West Block at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.

The post holder will provide a high quality reception and support service for the Head & Neck Team, and as such, will need to be able to communicate well with patients and their relatives, the general public and a wide range of multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust. In order to provide a support service to the technical staff, a versatile approach is essential and the ability to cope with a large number of different tasks simultaneously is a prerequisite of this post.

The apprentice receptionist & clerical support will be `responsible for ensuring the correct and timely input of patient information onto the Patient Administration System (PAS), observing the rules of ‘real time data entry’. All aspects of this role should be carried out in line with Trust Policies and Procedures on data collection and confidentiality.

Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants must be:

  • Aged 16+
  • Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
  • Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
  • Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Good general standard of education
  • 4 GCSE’s at D/3 or above
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills
