This is an exciting opportunity to join the team within Radiotherapy Physics providing clinical scientific and physics services to the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology. The Department has recently entered a new 10 year Managed Services Contract with Medipass to provide a radiotherapy service to the people of Norfolk for the next ten years. A new Truebeam linac was installed in October, a further two Truebeam replacements are planned for later this year, together with a new CT scanner. The Department currently has five linacs, GE CT, Xstrahl superficial unit and Varisource HDR.

As post holder you will:

  • Assist in all aspects of the radiotherapy physics service i.e. treatment planning, brachytherapy and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to the development of new treatment techniques and assisting with commissioning of new equipment.
  • Participate in research and development projects with a view to presentation.
  • Assist with teaching and training within the Department.
  • Participate in maintaining the Departmental ISO 9001:2015 quality system including review of procedures, writing of work instructions, carrying out audits.

Hours of work : 37.5 hours per week, shift pattern,  to include extended working day. Some weekend working may be required
