SPECIALTY RESEARCH LEAD – Hepatology

Could you be a leader in driving research to improve health services?

Would you like to help influence and inspire colleagues in developing hepatology NIHR Portfolio research to help more patients?

Applications are now invited for an exciting opportunity to help lead Hepatology for the NIHR’s Clinical Research Network (CRN) East of England.

Main duties of the job

This Specialty Research Lead post for Hepatology is remunerated at 0.5 sessions/week for 1 year (renewable).

As Specialty Research Lead you will be in a nationally prominent position within the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) and within your specialty. You will provide leadership for delivery of the NIHR CRN’s portfolio of studies and will work closely with a highly expert team of CRN managers, other senior clinical leaders within the organisation and will be supported by a team of administrators, information managers and others.

This is a great opportunity to find out about and join in with new research projects and collaborate with other departments taking a leadership role for research in the region.

This post offers the successful candidate an opportunity to influence the future development of research within hepatology and to enable large numbers of patients to benefit both from the advantages of research participation and from the outputs of research studies. You will occupy a high profile role, develop research leadership skills and benefit from a range of high quality professional development opportunities.

This post is open to individuals with experience in Hepatology Research.  The post will be held by the existing employing organisation and the successful candidate will be able to undertake this role from their existing location.

Working for our organisation

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) was launched in 2007 and is now the largest funder of research in the UK. Over the last 2 years, it has been instrumental in delivering Urgent Public Health research to find effective COVID-19 vaccines and treatments.

The NIHR CRN East of England is one of 15 NIHR local Clinical Research Networks (LCRNs) that drive clinical research delivery across the locality and is now playing a key regional role in managing the recovery of clinical research across all specialties as the UK pandemic evolves.
