Within the scope of theatres here in Norfolk we are building our post Covid recovery and so are looking to appoint to our growing unit.

Here at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH), we have a total of 17 elective theatres, 3 emergency theatres covering General, Thoracic, Robotic, Vascular, Paediatric, Plastics, Maxillofacial, Head and Neck, Urology, Gynecology, Orthopaedics, Emergency and Obstetrics specialties. The Hospital is situated 3 miles from the City of Norwich, next to the University Of East Anglia.

These services are supported with a full time Practice Development and Education team alongside our Governance lead.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and reliable individuals to join the busy Theatre teams as we look to expand further with the development of a new Procedure room complex. We are looking to build on recent successes and develop a new service for a wide ranging demographic of patients through this new service, which will look to encompass many of the already established specialties we already provide for within our surgical footprint.

Working with us you will have many opportunities to develop your surgical and, if applicable, anaesthetic knowledge and skills.  As a department we value all of our team members and are committed in the promotion and development of all our staff across the department.

The successful candidates will pride themselves on having a passion on delivering excellent patient centred care on their Peri-Operative pathway.

As post holder you will work as a competent member of the team, supporting the philosophy of multi-skilling and integration of theatre personnel.

You will also be an accountable practitioner, taking every opportunity to sustain and improve knowledge and professional competence in all aspects of peri-operative care.

To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.

Why NNUH?

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a beautiful, purpose built, modern hospital with bright and airy atriums flooding the building with beautiful Norfolk sunshine. In a recent survey, 97% of friends and family would recommend NNUH to a family member; this is a direct result of out 7,500 strong multi-disciplinary workforce working together in a constant effort to improve patient care. With strong links to the University of East Anglia and Norwich Research Park we want to give our staff every opportunity and the support to achieve their potential.

Why Norwich?

In Norwich a staggering 77% of people say they love their job. Although less than 2 hours from London and serviced by excellent transport links , Norwich is one of few UK cities that still retain a strong local identity and with that a strong sense of community.  This strong sense of self along with excellent shopping, eating out, affordable house prices and excellent schooling is why Norwich has been ranked by the Guardian as the best city to work in.  There is an abundance of sandy beaches on the coastline within a easy drive, and plenty of scope for outdoor activities.
