Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join our Temporary Staffing Bank to support the Medical Workforce team, helping to provide short term locum bank cover for all grades of doctors within the Trust.
The Medical Workforce team is responsible for ensuring the timely recruitment of medical staff of all grades, obtaining locum cover and providing a general human resources service for doctors employed by the Trust.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has recruitment experience, agency/temporary staffing and/or payroll experience, however, we are open to consider transferable skills which would suit this role.
If you are an excellent communicator, methodical, organised, proactive, have excellent IT skills and are adept at working to deadlines we would love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job
The post holder is an integral role within the Medical Workforce team ensuring that locum bank cover is provided to support departments/doctors where medical vacancies/sickness exist.
The Locum Medical Recruitment officer is responsible for providing specialist support and advice to divisions and directorates to ensure a high quality locum medical recruitment service is delivered.
The post holder will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To provide an administrative service with the aim of recruiting high calibre locum staff
- The accurately check CVs to ensure eligibility and investigate any anomalies. Administer, support and co-ordinate recruitment processes including interview panels where required, with the aim of recruiting high calibre locum medical staff in the appropriate manner
- To include the confirmation of commencement date and preparation and issuing of contract on completion of satisfactory employment checks. Completion of administrative work and post appointment care for all posts appointed to.
- To Initiate ESR process for payments of additional locum work and expenses. Process in accordance with the Trust’s standing financial instructions and Terms and Conditions of Employment for Medical Staff.
- Co-ordination of vacancies with internal and external partners including agencies from the Government Procurement Service approved framework
- Preparation of locum status information and financial reports for circulation to the Divisional managers, HR and other relevant committees.
- Processing invoices and timesheets for payment in association with locum provision using relevant software tools.
- Cover for other members of Medical Recruitment as appropriate.
- Filing, data inputting, reception and general office duties, maintain accurate records of status of all posts within remit.
- Any other duties as required by the Head of HR Business Management or designated deputy.

- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in an NHS environment.
- Understanding and experience of the Recruitment Process.
- Knowledge of a range of administrative and HR practices acquired through relevant training and experience to diploma level
- Evidence of previous role requiring excellent verbal and written communications
