**12 month Fixed Term Contract – Apprenticeship, based at the NRP Innovation Centre, Norwich Research Park **

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice Administrator and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Administrator to join our small but very busy team in the Microbiology Office. The Department provides a Microbiological Diagnostic and Clinical Support service to the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and The James Paget Hospital known as the Eastern Pathology Alliance. We also support other Trusts and GP’s covering all aspects of Bacteriology, Mycology, Parasitology, Virology, Serology and Molecular Diagnostics

As apprentice you will:

-be an integral part of the office team assisting to maintain an efficient and effective administrative support service to the Microbiology Department, providing authorized results to hospital medical staff, general practitioners and clinics etc.

- Data entry and scanning of forms and documents.

As post holder, supervision and  support (direct and indirect) will be provided during all tasks, with progression being dependent on the completion of set objectives throughout the 12 months. This will enable the apprentice to work within the organisation to gain confidence, experience and build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation.

Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants must be:
- Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
- Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
- Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education

Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Good general standard of education
- 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (or equivalent) 
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills

Hours of Work: Full Time 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
