The Eye Bank is an integral part of the Nationwide Corneal Retrieval Service and potentially contributes in excess of 350 high quality corneas a year. 

We are looking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Assistant Eye Bank Co-ordinator . The post requires a diploma (or higher) level of qualification and experience in teaching and training and an understanding of tissue retrieval services and its challenges.

Under the direction of the line manager, as post holder you will :

- assist in planning, developing, managing and maintaining an effective regional eye retrieval service. Travel across the region is required on a regular basis

- promote eye donation and maintain links with health and other professionals, to the media and to the general public.

 - assist with promoting and encouraging a Team Approach to all Human tissue Donations within NHS throughout the region.

Hours of work : 36 hours per week. 

Eye donations occur 7 days / week.  You will be required to work regular weekend and participate in on-call work.
