We are a busy Day Case Unit undertaking the assessment and care of ophthalmic patients attending for day surgery.  This includes cataract, glaucoma, retinal and ocular plastic surgery. Along with caring for patients having surgery we also run regular new cataract clinics in the unit.

Ophthalmology is a progressive and exciting department, which is continuously adapting to meet and enhance the care provided to our patients.  We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person who is keen to join the team within Nelson Day Unit where we undertake day case ophthalmic surgery.

The successful candidate will complete the competency based learning programme for Ophthalmology and full training and support will be given by the team. The unit is open from 07.00-18.00 Monday to Friday and we will be looking at working regularly on a Saturday in the future.

We are seeking to recruit a full time member of staff and would be happy to receive applications from newly qualified nurses.

We would like to recommend an informal visit and we can discuss any further details of the post at this time.  We would be most happy to show you around the department and answer any queries you may have.
