We are currently recruiting for Orthopaedic Operating Department Practitioners who share our passion for delivering high quality care in Orthopaedic Surgery.
We are an exceptional, specialist Orthopaedic department with a worldwide reputation for innovation and, most importantly, for excellent patient care/ treatment. We currently have 5 operating theatres within our main theatre complex which is also linked with day procedure services. Over the next 2 years we are planning to renovate all of our theatres with state of the art laminar flow and IT systems. This has now given us the opportunity to add to our excellent team.
We employ a specialist Clinical Facilitator solely linked to orthopaedic theatres delivering training and education to ensure we can maintain high standards of excellence in the care we deliver. All new staff have a bespoke training and development plans with regular review meetings to support progress. Join us and you will be part of one of the most efficient departments within the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
The Orthopaedic Theatre team consists of approximately 55 members of staff. This includes Registered Nurses, Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) who work in both Surgery & Anaesthetics and Theatre Support Workers (TSWs) all working as a competent member of the theatre team supporting the philosophy of multi-skilling and integration of theatre personnel. We also have Surgical Care Practitioners (SCP) who assist the surgeons in theatre, on the wards and in clinics.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a bright and modern building that offers first class surgical facilities for our skilled Theatre teams to work in. The hospital is situated in the vibrant city of Norwich with excellent transport links across the region, supported by a local bus service linked to the hospital. We cover a large catchment area and as such our theatres deal with a wide range of exciting and challenging cases that provide our teams with the opportunities to make a positive difference to the lives of our patients.
