We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice Outpatient Booking Services Clerk and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticship Programme within the duration of the placement
We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Outpatient Booking Services Clerk to join our friendly booking team based at Rouen Road in the City Centre. As an apprentice you will be fully supported in managing Outpatient Waiting lists, booking and cancelling first new outpatient appointments using the Trust Patient Administration System (PAS), the NHS Electronic Referral System (e-RS), Somerset System and the Outpatient Referral Console System which all need to contain identical information. You will need to be an excellent communicator and will be receiving and making telephone calls, communicating with patients, GP practices and internal staff across the Trust whilst adhering to referral to treatment 18 week pathway targets where attention to detail and concentration levels will be paramount.
As post holder, supervision and support (direct and indirect) will be provided during all tasks, with progression being dependent on the completion of set objectives throughout the 12 months. This will enable the apprentice to work within the organisation to gain confidence, experience and build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation.
All applicants must be:
- Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
- Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
- Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Good general standard of education
- 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (or equivalent)
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills

Hours of work : Full time - 37.5 hours per week , 08:30-17:00 Monday to Friday
