Post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Medicine

Basic Salary £49,036, plus payroll elements for additional hours, weekend and night working.

Applications are invited for the full time post of Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Medicine at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This is the ideal post for a doctor developing a career in paediatrics and for someone who wants to gain experience in a busy, innovative children’s unit.

The post is available from 1st August 2020 until 1st September 2021 but may be extendable by mutual agreement as other opportunities within the acute paediatric and/or tertiary neonatal team are anticipated.

The world renowned Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital is a hospital within a hospital; the NNUH is the 6th largest acute trust in the UK but don’t worry, we still keep our friendly, community feel. The JLCH provides services in medical and surgical paediatrics and neonatology to a local population of approximately 167,900 0-17 year olds, while also attracting referrals from a wider catchment area.

Our extensive and expert-led department offers a wide range of subspecialist services including:

  • Paediatric respiratory
  • Gastroenterology
  • Rheumatology
  • Diabetes and endocrinology
  • Paediatric surgery

We are part way through delivery of our aspirational 5-year Children’s strategy; our aim is to improve and continuously develop our growing services. There are close working relationship with the Department of Community Paediatrics and the wider hospital staff. The department is committed to offering high quality innovative services; community paediatric nursing has been developed as a means of improving care, reducing length of stay and integrating hospital and community services.

You will be joining a dynamic and innovative department, focused on high quality care and medical and nursing undergraduate and postgraduate education. There is excellent multidisciplinary working in specialist’s teams and in acute medicine and strengthening links with community services including Primary Care, Community paediatrics and CAMHS.
