How would you like to make a difference?
Would you like to join a team that makes a real difference every day and at the same time expand your knowledge and experience of palliative care? If so, then we would really love to hear from you.
We are currently looking for a doctor to join our team as a Specialty Doctor. This post is for one day a week with an on call commitment of 1 in 5 commencing in July 2021. You will be based at Priscilla Bacon Lodge, a few miles from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This is a 16 bed Consultant-led specialist palliative care unit. This post has the ability to offer you a wealth of experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and training in all aspects of palliative medicine.
You will be well supported by our senior clinical team and able to partake in a wide range of training opportunities. You will be working alongside the Consultants on ward rounds and over time would be able to see patients in clinics or in the community if desired. We offer weekly journal club and case reflections sessions as well as regular educational sessions.
Specialist palliative care services at Priscilla Bacon Lodge and in the community are provided by Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. Medical staff working within the service are employed by the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Foundation Hospital, which has 1000 beds and serves a population of over 700,000. The hospital is adjacent to the University of East Anglia, the Medical School established in 2002 and the world renowned Norwich Research Park. This ensures that our staff have unqualified access to research development and opportunities for under and post graduate teaching.
Norwich is quite rightly described as “a fine city.” Its skyline is dominated by a graceful cathedral and a massive Norman castle. It boasts countless attractions to interest and intrigue its residents, with all of the modern facilities you would expect in a vibrant city. Norwich schools are rated as some of the best within the country. The surrounding Norfolk countryside and long stretches of coastline are renowned for its beauty and tranquillity. The Norfolk Broads provide a quintessential rural getaway with the North Norfolk villages providing a more traditional ambience. With excellent transport links to Cambridge and London, Norfolk offers everything you require to establish the perfect work life balance.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practise, have at least 2 years experience post registration and preferably hold the MRCP / MRCGP.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
