Don’t just work for us - Come start your career with Team NNUH

We like to show off about being housed in a modern, purpose built site just outside of Norwich city centre.

We tell anyone who asks, and those who don’t, that we recently scored 97% in Friends and Family survey on recommending NNUH.

However what we shout the loudest about and what we are ultimately incredibly proud of is being a Trust who genuinely supports staff development as we encourage everyone to achieve their potential.

Working as an ODP

In the surgery division we have dedicated wards and experienced staff within a variety of surgical specialities; providing complex and major surgery. Our Surgical services are highly rated and regarded, with excellent surgical outcomes and mortality figures in all specialities.

We are a division at the forefront of innovation, with advancements in surgical skills which use the latest technology such as robotic surgery in colorectal and urological cancers and an internationally recognised surgery team that is having fantastic outcome for our patient’s recovery.

As a First Post Qualified ODP you will be part of a supportive network of staff comprising of a Divisional Nursing Director, Matrons, Ward Sisters and Clinical Educators and other Newly Qualified ODPs who are frequently implementing new ideas and opportunities for the team. You will also work with all members of the clinical team within the multidisciplinary framework to maintain a high standard of patient care to match our high levels of patient satisfaction.

We have also had many of our Newly Qualified ODPs progress into various roles; these include advanced care practitioners, surgical care practitioners and critical practitioners which you could do to.

Preceptorship and support during the early years

Starting your career can be scary and the help and support we can offer you in the early years can lay strong foundations for career development.  We are proud to offer and support all our Newly Qualified ODPs through a comprehensive Preceptorship scheme for a minimum of 12 months.

From day one in the trust you will be assigned an appropriately trained preceptor/mentor, this preceptor will support and work with you throughout your preceptorship, dedicating 12 days to your development.

Equally, for those of you with leadership aspirations your Preceptorship could be used to commence the first step on the ladder of the Health Education East leadership pathway
