The Staff Bank is an ideal way of starting a career in the Trust, offering flexibility of working hours and the opportunity to gain experience in different areas. The Staff Bank will provide training to enable you to work across the Trust.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in an acute hospital within the last 12 months
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Ability to work a minimum of 12-15 hours per week in medical/surgical areas

A maximum of 150 hours of supervised practice is available if you have not worked within an acute hospital setting in the last 12 months. The programme can be tailored to individual need and does attract a bursary.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer adaptation courses.

Team NNUH are looking for Registered Nurses to join our Bank and work flexibly with our Emergency Department. Our Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the East of England and our team of dedicated and professional Registered Nurses are at the heart of our service.

We’re looking for Registered Nurses who are available to work ad hoc shifts via our Nurse Bank. As well as holding current NMC Registration, you’ll need to have practised in an acute hospital in the last 12 months and should be a confident, resilient and adaptable individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. You’ll work as part of a multi- disciplinary team, all of who are looking to drive the service forward and we expect our Bank and temporary staff to share the same commitment. Our PRIDE values of People Focus, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence are important to all of us within the Emergency Department and we expect our temporary staff to share that view as well.

Working via the Bank is a great way to gain new experiences and skills. We welcome applications from any Nurses who are interested- whether you have previous ED experience or not- each application will be considered on it’s merits.  Applications will be assessed by staff from our ED team and if successful you’ll be required to attend an induction and undertake supernumerary shifts too, to ensure that you have the support you need to work safely and effectively.

If you’re interested in developing a career in Emergency Medicine or want to return to this field of Nursing, joining our Nurse Bank is an excellent way to achieve your goals. To be considered, please read through the attached job description and make your application- telling us why you’d like to be considered and why you feel that working in Emergency Medicine is for you.

Why NNUH?

Just think where your NNUH career could take you. Norfolk and Norwich university Hospital is the 6th largest acute hospital in the UK with new clinics and services being introduced each year, the possibilities are endless.  For example 2018 started with us appointing Nurse Registrars and even our first Nurse Consultant.  With strong links to the University of East Anglia and Norwich Research Park we want to give our staff every opportunity and the support to achieve their potential.

Why Norwich?

In Norwich a staggering 77% of people say they love their job.   Although less than 2 hours from London and serviced by excellent transport links , Norwich is one of few UK cities that still retain a strong local identity and with that a strong sense of community – people walk down the street and say hello to each other, baristas remember our coffee order, you get to know about interesting local projects.

This strong sense of self along with excellent shopping, eating out, affordable house prices and excellent schooling is why Norwich has been ranked by the Guardian as the best city to work in.

Wish you were here?

So do we…..
