The NNUH is an ISAS accredited department playing an important role in the teaching and training of health professionals in partnership with the UEA, City College Norwich and University of Suffolk.  The Trust’s location on the Norwich Research Park means that research and development is a key feature of our work.

Radiology has 10 general rooms with 3 in a busy and exciting ED unit; most of our rooms are DR. We also have a satellite Chest DR room, fluoroscopy, 2 Interventional Angiography suites; 4 CT & MRI scanners, Dentals, Dxa and 3 Cardiac Cath Labs (including PPCI).  Radiology also provides a service to 27 theatres and a number of wards utilising 9 mobile image intensifiers and several mobile x-ray machines. In addition we support 2 clinician operated mini c-arms.

Cromer Hospital forms part of the Trust and is situated on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. The Radiology Department has 2 general rooms supporting a busy MIU, GP’s and clinics together with a procedure room with its own image intensifier. Also on site at Cromer are Mammography, MRI and Dxa. We are committed to role extension, CPD, career progression and preceptorship and also have close links with the Norwich Radiology Academy.

Currently our assistant practitioners rotate through several areas of the modality including general Inpatients, Outpatients, GP’s, ED X-Ray and Fluoroscopy.

As post holder you will:

  • provide a professional, high quality and responsive imaging service to patients in the specific area, in a safe clinical environment
  • Work with all members of the clinical team within a multi-disciplinary framework
  • Contribute to a high standard of care for all patients
  • Carry out duties within a defined scope of practice in accordance with Trust/directorate policy
  • Support and help all members of the clinical team in high quality service delivery

Hours of work: Full time - 37.5 hours per week. 

The Department provides a 7 day week service . It is a requirement of this post to work a range of shifts and duties, to include evenings and weekends. The department supports a mixture of short and long day working.
