Job overview
It is our privilege to provide Ophthalmic healthcare to over 100,000 patients across Norfolk and the surrounding area. We undertake the assessment and care of ophthalmic patients. We are a progressive department, which is continuously adapting to deliver and enhance the care provided to our patients. |
We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Theatre Practitioners to join our specialist Ophthalmic Theatre Team. Recent Theatre and Anaesthetics experience is desirable for this post. Ophthalmic and Retinal experience would be an advantage.
Monday - Saturday day shift |
Monday – Sunday on-call commitment

Main duties of the job
You will work as a competent member of the theatre team, supporting the philosophy of multi-skilling and integration of theatre personnel. Be an accountable practitioner, taking every opportunity to sustain and improve knowledge and professional competence in all aspects of peri-operative care. You will also support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture. |

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/ Operating Department Practitioner on the appropriate part of the NMC/ Health Professional Register
Desirable criteria
- Within two years of registration, aim to complete the Mentorship preparation programme (or in possession of vocational assessors qualification)
Experience

- Recent experience of practice in a perioperative environment in a UK setting
- Knowledge/experience of relevant speciality
Skills

- Willingness to further develop knowledge and skills
